About the Block :
Bhangar-1Development Block is under Baruipur Sub-Division of South 24 Parganas. It is a Community Development Block. It is bounded by Bhangar –II in the North, Minakahan in the East, Canning-II in the South, and Sonarpur in the West.Bhangar PS & KLC PS serve this block. It consists of two constituencies, namely,148 Bhangore AC & 139 Canning Purba AC. There are 9 GPs within its administrative jurisdiction of it. Calcutta Leather Complex is situated under Tardah GP of Bhangore-I Development Block.
ECONOMY: Main earning source of the people is agriculture, fisheries and transport business.
