Schemes

The major objectives of the ICDS Scheme are :

i) Improvement in nutritional and health status of the children in the age group of 0-6 years;
ii) Laying the foundation for a proper psychological, physical and social development of the children;
iii) Reduction in the incidence of mortality, morbidity, malnutrition and school dropouts;
iv) Co-ordination of policy and implementation amongst various departments to promote child development; and
v) Enhancement of the capacity of the mother to look after the normal health and nutritional needs of the child through proper nutrition and health education.

SI/S, in the capacity of Circle Project Coordinator is also responsible for releasing of different grants to the Govt. / Govt. aided / Govt. sponsored schools under his/her jurisdiction, monitoring the progress of the schemes and proper utilization of the fund under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.
