Name of the Department /Section: District Planning Section
Activity and function of the department/Section: The function of Planning Section is to coordinate and to monitor the different development activities taking place in the district.

| 1. | MPLADS (Lok Sabha & Rajya Sabha): Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme is essentially for development works and creation of durable community assets. Hon’ble MP’s have recommendatory roles & District Authority is responsible for implementation. |
| 2. | BEUP: Under Bidhayak Elaka Unnayan Prakalpa each MLA recommends schemes in each financial year for their respective assembly constituency area in conformity with BEUP guidelines |
| 3. | NRDMS: The Natural Resource Data Management System in the district is controlled by the Section. GIS mapping of utilities, various govt. services and schemes, thematic mapping are done by NRDMS. |

Annual Plan: It formulates Annual Plan of the District following the guidelines of State Planning Department. |
| 5. | Plan for Human Development: The Department is responsible for formulation of Human Development Plan of the District which is an important indicator of the improvement in overall well-being of citizens. |
| 6. | Duare Sarkar & Samasya Samadhan- Jana Sanjog: Started on 1st December 2020 by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of west Bengal, Duare Sarkar is an initiative of the Government of West Bengal, for delivery of different Government Welfare schemes and services at the Door Steps of the people through outreach camps. These camps are organized at the level of Gram Panchayat and the Municipality wards. CMRO Public Grievance: Complaint / Problem received from the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s Office through the portal, then same forwarded to parent / sub office for quick disposal. |
